Deverm is a broad-spectrum deworming tablet for dogs dosed at 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight, costing around EGP 55 to 65 per tablet in Egypt. It treats common intestinal parasites including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms.
Weight-Based Dosage Breakdown
To administer the accurate dosage, weigh your dog carefully. The generic guideline scales as follows:
- Up to 5 kg: 1/2 tablet
- 5 kg to 10 kg: 1 tablet
- 11 kg to 20 kg: 2 tablets
- 21 kg to 30 kg: 3 tablets
Administration & Schedule
- How to give it: The tablet can be administered directly into your dog's mouth or hidden inside a small piece of food. Fasting before or after the treatment is not required.
- Routine Prevention: For adult dogs (over 1 year old), preventive deworming is generally recommended every 3 months.
- Active Infection Treatment: If your dog shows signs of an active worm infestation (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, or visible parasites), the dose is typically repeated once after 2 weeks to catch newly hatched larvae, then continued periodically every 3 months.
