• Anemia of Chronic Kidney Failure: To compensate for the deficiency of the natural hormone in patients, whether they are undergoing dialysis or not.
• Chemotherapy-Induced Anemia: To treat anemia resulting from cancer drugs (non-myeloid).
• Preparation for Surgical Procedures: To reduce the need for blood transfusions during or after major scheduled surgeries.
• Anemia in HIV Patients: Resulting from the use of certain antiviral drugs such as Zidovudine.

• The medication is administered either subcutaneously (SC) or intravenously (IV).
• The dose and treatment schedule are determined solely by the treating physician based on the patient's weight, current hemoglobin level, and response to treatment.

• Uncontrolled Hypertension: The drug is absolutely contraindicated if blood pressure is high and unstable. [1, 2]
• Blood Pressure Monitoring: Blood pressure should be monitored regularly throughout treatment, as the drug may cause an increase. [1, 2]
• Risk of Blood Clots: Rapid increase in red blood cell production may increase the risk of blood clots; therefore, the physician adheres to achieving a safe hemoglobin level (usually between 10 to 12 g/dL) without exceeding it. [1, 2, 3]
• Iron Stores: The body needs adequate amounts of iron to produce blood cells; therefore, the physician often recommends iron supplements in conjunction with injections.

• The vial should be stored in the refrigerator door at a temperature between 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
